Inspiring Future Talent at Crestwood Community School Career Fair
Zone Contractors were proud to attend the Cherbourg Career Fair at Crestwood Community School, partnering with Balfour Beatty plc and The Smart Motorway Alliance on the M3 project. The event aimed to inspire students to explore career opportunities in construction and highlight the innovative technologies shaping the industry’s future.
Our stand offered a variety of engaging activities, giving students a hands-on experience with cutting-edge construction tools. Highlights included a demonstration of our upcoming ‘Zone Jobs’ mobile and tablet app, designed to streamline job management in the construction sector. Students also enjoyed an immersive VR digger simulator, which provided a realistic glimpse into onsite activities.
We showcased 360° technology, demonstrating its potential to innovate project planning and delivery, alongside drone technology, which is transforming how construction projects are surveyed and monitored. To add an extra element of fun, students tried their hand at muck shifting using a scale excavator and articulated dump truck – a big hit with the crowd!
The day was a tremendous success, with students showing enthusiasm and curiosity about the construction industry. Special thanks to Kathryn Boyce for inviting us, and to Dawn Smith for organising such a well-run event. We’re also grateful to Conor Chippendale for serving as our VR demonstrator, and to Aidan Munnelly and Caitlin Hayes for representing Zone Contractors with such professionalism.
We are excited to continue inspiring the next generation of construction professionals and showcasing the innovative solutions driving the industry forward. If you’re interested in learning more about our technologies or career opportunities, please get in touch!
